Meet Joyce, the Visionary behind Queer Haircuts.
With over 16 years of experience in hair cutting and styling, Joyce Landicho (they/them) is more than just a hairstylist—they’re a creator of safe spaces for gender non-conforming people and how they express themselves through hair. As the Founder of Queer Haircuts, Joyce has built a salon experience where clients can describe their ideal look without fear or discomfort—no judgement, just great hair!
Joyce is extremely talented and versatile in haircutting. Anything from short pixies, fancy pompadours to stylish bobs. But what makes Joyce really special? After learning all of their amazing skills at Aveda Institute in New York City, they worked in coveted NY salons with top stylists and enhanced their skills to provide clients with flawless haircuts. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Joyce joined Folklore Salon where they specialized in all styles of mostly queer haircuts. Clients loved their work, and Joyce realized it was time to start their own business.
In 2018 Queer Haircuts was born! Joyce finally ventured out on their own to create a welcoming space for queer hair expression. After their most recent residency at Bang Bang Salon in East Hollywood, Joyce is currently taking up space in queer-friendly DISCOTHEQUE Salon off Riverside Drive, bordering Atwater Village, Frogtown, Silverlake, and Echo Park. Joyce has gained a devout following on their @queerhaircuts Instagram which they launched in 2018 to celebrate and showcase haircuts that authentically match who their wide range of clients are—no awkwardness, no questions, just queer hair. And guess what? People were so stoked!
Joyce takes their time to listen to your concerns, answer any questions and really understand your vision. Joyce is known for making people feel comfortable in the chair and great about their hair.

Joyce is proud to share space with the talented folks at Discotheque Salon in Los Angeles.
In the beginning of 2021, owner Kayla Lofaro opened up her dream salon on the east side of Los Angeles. Discotheque Salon provides a perfect combination of a desert oasis mixed with a little bit of disco. with the company of extremely talented stylists, Discotheque is here to provide you with the ultimate salon experience.
Discotheque is also a hub for local artists. all art provided at the salon is for sale by the artist.
